The Department of Energy (DOE) announced the addition of thirteen new grants for projects in advanced manufacturing and breakthrough industrial technologies.  The grants, outlined here with recipient, partner, funding, and descriptive details, amount to about $54 million, and all focus on increasing energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption to enable low-cost, energy-conscious manufacturing.  According to Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, the grants directly support the administration’s goals to bolster American competitiveness in advanced science and technology.
